At the Kilo Lab of abcr, we produce special chemicals that are not available in the kilogram standard. Whether scaling-up milligram amounts or scaling-down tonnage amounts –
abcr is your competent partner.


We represent the professional interface between research & development (R&D) and industrial large-scale production. Our Kilo Lab is optimally equipped in order to satisfy the rising quantity demands of the research industry in the early phase of development. We accompany R&D projects from the first synthesis of small amounts in the gram range to small-volume production as we rely on flexible multi-purpose facilities in order to optimally cope with every synthetic challenge. Scaling-up from laboratory amounts to the kilogram standard does not pose a problem for our chemists. 

Our products are “made in German” and comply with the highest quality standards. Our internal procedures are certified and tested according to ISO 9001 in order to ensure this permanently. We strive for the highest safety standards for our employees as we rely on fully equipped state-of-the-art infrastructure.  

We support you step by step all the way to the production standard

We optimise your processes in the Kilo Lab and support you so you can transfer your own developments in the laboratory standard to the kilogram standard without having to establish a complex infrastructure. We also support you with our professional expertise on the process development path toward production maturity. Transfer times in production can be shorted based on our experience.

State-of-the-art technology for special chemicals in the abcr Kilo Lab 

Our employees in the Kilo Lab have access to state-of the-art equipment on a laboratory area of 110 m2.

The following is available for production:

  • Two special walkable enclosures for the safe operation of synthesis reactors  
  • Multi-purpose synthesis reactors made from glass that can also be operated with inert gas

  • Reactors have a volume of 20 or 30 litres
  • Operating temperatures from -60°C to +200°C can be realised 

  • Pressure reactor with a volume of 5 litres, operating pressure of up to 60 bar
  • Operating temperatures from -10 to 250°C 

  • A large-scale rotation evaporator with a volume of 20 litres
