Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)
Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) entered into force on 11 February 2025. The provisions will generally apply from 12 August 2026, although certain requirements will come into effect in stages at later dates.
abcr continuously monitors regulatory developments relating to the PPWR and assesses their impact on products, packaging, supply chains and internal processes. In doing so, we work closely with suppliers and other partners along the value chain.
To implement the requirements relevant to our company, the necessary organisational, technical and procedural measures are being introduced in stages. These include, amongst other things:
- the ongoing review and assessment of packaging
- the collection and updating of relevant supplier documentation
- the further development of technical documentation and conformity assessments
- the adaptation of internal processes and systems
- preparation for future requirements regarding labelling, information obligations, recyclability, recycled content and reuse
Our aim is to implement all PPWR requirements relevant to abcr in accordance with the legal provisions and applicable deadlines, and to provide our customers with the necessary information and evidence.
